The Norwich Research Park Health and Life Sciences Capacity Building Initiative to acquire the instrument involved EEDA, Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk Council, the John Innes Centre Norwich Bio-Incubator and IDna Genetics Ltd. The Initiative funded both a start up laboratory in the Norwich Bio-Incubator, and the purchasing of the ABI 3730 mutation analyzer.

In addition to supporting new and existing companies in the Norwich Bio-Incubator the Initiative will also stimulate further academic research securing existing jobs and leading to new grant applications creating further high quality employment in the region.
